The Biggest Little News Item
This CVS update is a pretty big deal. It marks a point at which GNOME and KDE converge on the same, freedesktop.org approved message bus.
This suggests things like the “USB Drive Inserted” dialogs will become very easy to handle. Perhaps refreshes on file manager dialogs will be more reliable. The key thing is this: the IPC mechanism is great, but D-BUS adds that critical link into kernel events.
The APIs for Python, et al., will be critically important as well.
